How far away does your marriage have to be before a gay marriage affects the ’sanctity’ of your marriage?

Jayden’s ♥daddies♥ asked:

In all of Canada same sex marriage is legal – and now in 5 US states. Are all UTAH marriages now un-sanctified, or are they far enough away to be protected?

the marriages in texas are safe because the blood of jesus protects its borders from gay sin (applied with huge paint rollers at each texas toll booth)

    Agreed.

I am opposed to any federal involvement in this issue since marriage is defined by the states.

However if I were to create a ruling on it here is what I would do.

The state would declare all marriages would be defined as civil unions by the state. You and your religions can call it whatever you want but by the state, its a civil union. Gays can have civil unions but they can not force any religion to marry them.

People used to have serious debates on how many angels could dance on the head of a pin.
    This is in that category.
A stateline sanctity rule seems to be in effect.
Is that, I wonder, a facet of that God and Country thing the cons keep yapping about?
BTW I’m married 31 years, and I’m in no way threatened. I was married by a Justice of the Peace at city hall.
At the time a marriage license was five dollars.
Its lasted lots longer than some of these thousands of dollars weddings too.

..it’s not you sanctity they are after…

    …it’s your wallet.

Gay Marriage is about stealing social benefits meant for breeders.
It’s about funneling Corporate insurance into HIV treatments.

Obama thinks America should make the successful pay for the idiotic. Canada’s been there for years.

I’m not sure I understand your question correctly. How would another persons marriage, gay or straight, effect mine? If I’m not in the relationship I don’t see how an others would.
Are you referring to tight azzed, mind every ones business, holier than thou, all gays go to hell type persons marriages?
The UTAH thing is throwing me too.Are you referring to the FLDS groups there?
Maybe I need to sleep and reread this.

Every person should have the choice to marry the person they chose.
If you and your partner are male, female, goats, what ever, it should be up to you.
I want my best friend of 20 years to be able to marry her partner if they so chose. They have been together as long as I have have been married. That’s not a choice here in Florida but hell we can’t even get behind gay parent adoptions down here.

Every human should have the right to be married, have a family covered by health insurance, and live with out some idiot throwing rocks.

**I like EMP civil union idea. Dear lord that would make people nuts! The Bible Belt would erupt in flames…

The constitution bill of rights = Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Marriage is a convention of religion, many religions not just one, so constitutionally the government can not make any law pertaining to marriage. That they already have just shows how far we have slipped from the constitution.

It could be next door and it wouldn’t affect my marriage. I am thrilled more states are allowing it. Marriage is between two consenting adults (gender not withstanding). In a world with 50% divorce rate the fact that two people who love each other are willing to make a commitment to live together through good and bad should be celebrated not impeded
