I am a Catholic Convert, and I assume that you consider Christianity an organized religion.
Never in my time as a Protestant or now as a Catholic has my Religion caused separation from anything except sin.

Not sure I can think that deeply at the moment, but from my personal experience, I have seen religion separate people but have also seen it bring people together who would otherwise have hated each other. I think a religion that teaches us to love God and love others SHOULD cause nothing but harmony, however, a religion worth living for must also be TRUE, so there will be differences of belief. This should not, however, cause separation. I do not make up my religion or my God. He reveals Himself to man, not the other way around, so I am compelled to believe what He tells me about Himself, and not water that down, but He tells me that His son died for the sins of the world and it is not my job to judge others but to live a life of love in front of the world that they might be drawn to Him through me. If that’s my religion and I live by it we should have no problems getting along even if we disagree on certain things.
